Hello, how are you? I hope that you’re all having a brilliant week and are gearing up for a great halloween. As the days chill down and grow darker, we’re certainly starting to look forward to festive-filled evenings, cosying up indoors with a good book and enjoying the fresh, seasonal produce that summer provided us with!
As the evenings start to get darker and the leaves turn golden, the outdoor aspect of Hooton Pagnell Hall really comes alive with such beautiful colours and homegrown treats, too!
Our private walled gardens are a great place to explore, perfect for that pre-dinner stroll or photographs for your Yorkshire wedding. As well as immaculate lawns, you will find beautiful Japanese features, brought to the hall by Julia Warde-Aldam, the whimsical green house, rose garden, Summer House, and a few other hidden gems as well.
One of the best things to do at Hooton Pagnell Hall on a mild spring or summers evening is to sit on the lawns overlooking our organic gardens and the hall, as the sun sets for the day. Perhaps a cup of tea or a glass of wine in hand, surrounded by the sound of the birds settling down for the night, the aroma of freshly cut grass and that delightful tranquility of our English country garden….
Our gardener, Robert, does a truly beautiful job of keeping everything looking perfect, including nurturing our delicious treats.
From seasonal, delightful batches of rhubarb, to crisp lettuce leaves, raspberries and zesty lemons, these yummy treats are used for guests enjoying our bespoke bedrooms, for dinners, the gin bar and so, so much more. (I’d say my favourite has to be our delightfully smooth lemon curd – yum!)
You’ll also often see fresh flowers around our accommodation, too! They’re sweet smelling, colourful, and we adore using our very own produce that showcases the talents of our gardener.
Take a little look at some pictures of our latest bounty of produce from the gardens, captured beautifully by Isobel Warde-Norbury. These photographs were taken this month, and we’re sure that our guests can’t wait to try these delectable fruits and florals.
Love, as always,
Team Hooton Pagnell Hall x
